At the department constantly conducts research involving senior students. In 1990-91. team of employees under the current head of the department Prof. V. Gusev twice been awarded the Prize Council of Ministers for the development and organization of semiconductor and varicap diodes ultrafast pulse.
Over the past 5 years the department developed and implemented in production complex diagnosis of autonomous GMDSS (security) for ships and aircraft. Senior students take the compulsory participation in research conducted at the branches of the department: research and production enterprise Tavrida Electric, Monsoon-Morsvyaz Service, Hospital of the Russian Federation Black Sea Fleet, the Center of Maternal and Child Health, Sevastopol. Our students have diverse computer training that includes learning computer skills such areas as programming, computer architecture, operating systems, standard PC interfaces, software packages for general and special-purpose languages high-level programming, simulation on a PC, the structure and capabilities of the Internet, etc. The specialty "Microelectronics and Semiconductor Devices" training specialists for design and operation of electronic devices, computer and electronic equipment, as well as the development and maintenance of microcontroller and microprocessor-based systems, including hardware and software. The basic course subjects are solid-state electronics, digital and analog circuitry, in which students learn by using computer software to develop electronic devices themselves collect and debug them. In subsequent courses (microprocessor technology, microprocessors and microcontrollers, etc.) is a development of modern microcontrollers from companies such as Philips, Altera, Texas Instruments.
Through the use of computer training programs training is very effective. During the period of study, students learn the command system of microcontrollers and high-level languages: Pascal, C + +, Delphi. High qualifications of our students is confirmed by the conquered prizes at the All-Ukrainian competitions and contests in electronics, microcontrollers and microprocessors. Specialty "Physical and Biomedical Electronics" is aimed at increasing demand hospitals, diagnostic and rehabilitation centers in Ukraine, sanatoriums and resorts of the southern coast of skills to design and maintain modern medical electronic equipment.
